Happy Easter Holidays to you all! The Easter break is a great time to continue your child's learning experiences in a fun and creative way, here at Faust International Youth Theatre.
At Faust, we’ve been thinking about the beautiful ocean that surrounds our inspiring city and all the stories that we could be inspired to create or perform from it as our starting point for our creative endeavors.
Our Easter Theatre programmes run for four days from April 15th to 18th or April 23rd to 26th, with groups divided according to age (4 to 5, 6 to 8, 8 to 12).
Easter Theatre Programme (ages 4 to 12)
This Easter we will be creating stories
inspired by the sea. Your child might explore the story of the Little
Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson, Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, or The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson for the younger years! The timeless
tale of mermaids and loyalty is one of my favourite and you can be safe in the
knowledge that all our drama professional will pick from a selection of
fascinating stories that will ignite the imagination of your child and give
them a chance to play different characters and gain confidence during the
process.
Both Jo Lane (a Masters level trained Faust
leader) and I have written a play called Billy and the Big Blue Sea
which is about different sea animals and the importance of recycling. This show
was made specifically for 6 to 7-year-olds. We have also made productions such
as The Tiddler for 4 to 5-year-old children. Our programmes are fun and
pitched correctly for your child to enjoy as well as learn about theatre and
gain confidence!
Our Easter Theatre programmes run for four days from April 15th to 18th or April 23rd to 26th, with groups divided according to age (4 to 5, 6 to 8, 8 to 12).
We believe that children should work with
those of similar age and ability so projects can be levelled to your child and
content be appropriate and engaging for them. At the end of the week, we
produce a performance for you the parents or guardians to come and watch and
see the progress that your child has made as well as a chance to perform back
to your friends and family at the end of the week and truly feel the success of
being in a real theatre production.
Creative Writing Programme (ages 6 to 13)
The means to
be creative, we believe, is inside every child and our Creative Writing
programme for ages 6 to 13 is a great way to inspire your child into not only
just improving your child’s writing but also teaching them how to enjoy the
process too.
What sets us
apart from others is that our writing programme focuses on helping your child engage in the
process of writing creatively, not just sitting and writing in silence. Through
carefully planned exercises and workbook, your child will produce their own
creative writing pieces. I have led projects where we’ve created our own
interactive storybook that could be made into a computer game. Our leaders love
helping young writers to improve their writing and develop their own unique
style.
Play in a Day – Aladdin and his Magic Lamp (ages 8 to 12)
If you want to get a taste of what a longer
programme is like or you only one day to spare why not join us on Saturday,
April 13th and create a Play in a Day!
In this workshop for ages 8 to 12, members will create the entire play of Aladdin and his Magic Lamp, from the start with the idea, to a performance at the end of the day for parents! Our Play in a Day workshop is undoubted fast-placed and is a great experience for children to enhance their performance, teamwork and communication skills!
Don’t miss out
on our Easter programmes here at Faust. We pride ourselves on our ability to make
your child engage in their learning and creativity. We believe it will help
them become more confident in writing or drama as well as having a lot of fun
at the same time.
Have a
wonderful break and we look forward to a creative Easter with you all!
